Character Traits and Classes

DC Worlds Collide currently has over 70 heroes and villains to recruit in order to aid you against the Crime Syndicate and their forces. Each of these characters adheres to one of three classes, DPS, Tank or Support. Each class is incredibly important to help build powerful teams, but it should be noted that your team of five can consist of any combination of character classes and that no two characters serve the exact same function or perform the same way. If you’d like to run a Bat Family team made up of primarily DPS characters, there is nothing to stop you from doing so! Get crazy.

Traits

Additionally, characters are also tagged with one of three traits, Mighty, Tactical or Agile. These traits further distinguish characters from each other and offer up a special bonus that can further benefit your team comps. Mighty characters, for example, deal additional damage against Agile characters, but are weak against Tactical characters. In many ways, it’s a bit like rock, paper, scissors in that you can quickly choose how to counter your opponents based on their weaknesses and your strengths. While it’s entirely possible to run a team of your choosing while ignoring these traits, paying attention to your team’s strengths and weaknesses really opens up the door strategically for some advanced strategies.

DPS (Damage Per Second)

While all characters in DC Worlds Collide inflict damage upon their enemies, it is DPS characters that truly excel at dishing out maximum hurt. If you’re looking for a character that can quickly eliminate single targets or deal massive amounts of damage to large groups, fielding a DPS character will serve those purposes well. Most DPS characters have an ultimate attack that can unleash a game-changing assault upon the opposing enemy team. These ultimates have to be charged up over time and can be further enhanced by your other teammates and buffs. For example, Batman’s Ultimate, Endgame, deals a devastating barrage of blows on a single opponent who is unlucky enough to be on the receiving end of his assault.

Tank

Holding the line, protecting the team and staying alive is what Tanks do best. Some Tanks such as Lex Luthor provide protective shields for the entire team, while Nightwing uses his agility to guard his teammates and keep the enemy team stunned and off balance. Each Tank functions a bit differently than the rest, so finding the right combination of defenders for your team is paramount. In addition to their defensive capabilities, Tanks typically have a larger health pool than DPS or Support characters and can therefore take a lot more damage before they fall. Pairing a great Tank with Support characters that can keep them alive is a solid start for a winning team.

Support

The Support class in DC Worlds Collide can fill a variety of roles on your team. Not only are some Support characters able to heal your allies, but they also have numerous abilities that can weaken the enemy team or boost the abilities of your entire squad. Support characters can dish out substantial amounts of damage on their own, but it’s their unique ultimate attacks and passives that can quickly turn the tide of battle. Some support abilities you’ll encounter include healing, haste, block, vitality and more. Zatanna, for example, can provide your entire team with a life steal mechanic, granting everyone in your squad the ability to heal themselves when damaging their opponents. Learning the intricacies of your Support characters really allows for some unique and impactful pairings of abilities.
