Superman (DCU): Character Overview

Superman, the iconic symbol of truth, justice and hope is heading to DC Worlds Collide with an entirely new kit to add to your roster! Earth’s greatest hero. Friend and protector to all. Despite all his power, his greatest strength is his good heart.

KIT INFO:

Superman (DCU) is a Legendary Mighty DPS Hero who also functions well as a highly durable tank buster. With the proper synergies Superman (DCU) can deal impressive damage and hold the front line with multiple abilities designed to keep him healthy and ready for battle despite not being a Tank Hero. Let’s take a look at Superman (DCU)’s kit.

Ultimate: Heat Vision Hurricane

Superman (DCU) attacks an enemy hitting them six times with Heat Vision. Each hit applies one stack of Burn. If a target already has stacks of Burn before Superman (DCU) attacks, he will hit an additional time for each stack of Burn that was on his target before the attack. In addition to this, Superman (DCU) will heal himself each time the Burn stacks detonate during the attack.

Tips: Heat Vision Hurricane works very well with Burn teams and allows Superman (DCU) to recover chunks of health. This self-sustain enables him to stay in the fight longer than most DPS characters. Pairing him with other Burn characters such as Superboy can lead to some great combos. Make sure to use his Ultimate against enemies who already have high stacks of Burn to deal a devastating damage!

Basic Attack: Up Up and Away

Up, Up, and Away slams the ground near an enemy damaging both his primary target and the entire row of enemies while dealing additional damage to tanks.

Tips:  Superman (DCU)’s Basic Attack is great for taking down your opponent’s front line. Placing Superman (DCU) across from your opponent’s main tank enables him to focus his attacks on their healthiest units, which can quickly topple their defenses.

Advanced Attack: Speeding Bullet

With Speeding Bullet, Superman (DCU) bursts past the enemy team while adding stacks of Dampen and Slow to all enemies. If an enemy already happens to have Burn on them prior to being hit by Speeding Bullet, it will increase their burn stacks by one and perhaps lead to a detonation.

Tips: Dampen is an all new Debuff this season. When inflicted with Dampen, a target’s Superpower Resistance is reduced by 10% per stack with a maximum of four stacks. Speeding Bullet synergizes well with Superman’s Ultimate and opens up some strategic options with Debuff teams that can capitalize on his Debuff application. This ability will help set up enemies to have high stacks of Burn, so that his Ultimate can hit even harder!

Passive: Last Son’s Renewal

At the start of his turn, Last Son’s Renewal heals 20% of the damage Superman (DCU) took since his last turn which further adds to his survivability. In addition to health recovery, Last Son’s Renewal also removes a small number of Debuffs at the start of his turn.

Tips: Both Heat Vision Hurricane and Last Son’s Renewal can benefit from Attack Set gear which can boost the amount healed making Superman (DCU) even harder to take down.

Emblem Bonuses

  1. If Superman has less than 20% Health at the start of his turn, Last Son’s Renewal heals for double the amount
  2. Superman (DCU) gains an additional 15% Physical Damage Reduction
  3. Last Son’s Renewal now heals for double the amount if below 50%

Legendary Passive: Defender of the People

Defender of the People protects Superman (DCU) from taking a fatal attack once per battle. Once Defender of the people activates, Superman (DCU) gains 30% Dmg reduction, but also takes an additional 15% Superpower Dmg.

Tips: Defender of the People is incredibly powerful and can lead to some clutch moments in battle enabling your team to make a comeback if played correctly. Saving your healing ults and shields until Defender of the People activates can buy your team some time to stabilize.

General Tactical Overview

Superman (DCU) is a highly durable tank buster that can both deal impressive damage and hold the front line with multiple abilities designed to keep him healthy and ready for battle. Superman pairs well with Guy Gardner (DCU) and Mr. Terrific (DCU) who also have abilities that work to take down your opponent’s tanks quickly. Additionally, pairing Superman (DCU) with other Burn characters such as Starfire can help a number of his abilities be more effective.
